It's that time of year again: Time for the parade.
The Fresh from Florida Parade, formerly known as the Citrus Parade, ?kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday on Orange Avenue.
The floats were moved Friday from the Orange County Convention Center to the bus lot at the old Amway Arena. More than 600 volunteers attached oranges, tangerines and grapefruits to wire frames on the floats with rubber bands.
The floats are part of the 49 entries that will be part of the parade.
If you need to travel to downtown Orlando on New Year's Eve morning, be prepared?to navigate around?road closures for the parade.
The parade starts on Orange Avenue at Robinson Street. It follows south to Anderson Street, then?over to Rosalind Avenue, and finally?north back to Robinson Street.
During the morning of the parade, the following roads will be closed for staging:
- Orange Ave. from Colonial Drive to Anderson St.
- Anderson St. from Orange Ave. To Rosalind Ave.
- Robinson St. from Summerlin Ave. to Rosalind Ave.
- Amelia St. from Magnolia St. to Garland Ave.
- Livingston St.?from State Lane to Magnolia St.
Detour signs will be posted to guide you around the parade.
Traffic should be especially?busy getting off of?State Road?408 into downtown Orlando as the Rosalind Avenue?exit ramp will be closed. Your best bet is Mills Avenue.
I-4 exits to downtown Orlando will also be busy, so be prepared for delays on the interstate.
As always, be sure to check?LIVE Real Time Traffic before you hit the road.
